GM Hoard: Mystical Pools

A mystical pool or spring might be in the depths of a monster-infested cave, or in a remote valley, or far into a trackless forest. Wherever it is, you know something will happen if you bathe in the water (or, if it’s too small for that, drink some). Just what that thing is, of course, can vary widely.

But the description … oh, the description. You don’t want to have to say “It’s, um, some kind of a pool. It’s got water in it. The water looks kind of magical.”

Since these descriptions are shorter and less complex than some of the others, today’s post has 20 of them.

1: A moderate-sized pool of sparkling lavender water, surrounded by rocks, that  reverses the bather’s sex for 10 hours.
2: A large pool of foaming blue water, surrounded by sand, that causes dragons  to be hostile to the bather for the next 7 hours.
3: A moderate-sized spring of bubbling green water, surrounded by violet sand,  that exchanges Dexterity and Willpower.
4: A moderate-sized pool of bubbling blue water that causes humanoids to be  friendly to the bather for the next 2 hours.
5: A small pool of sparkling rainbow-colored water that gives the bather the  power of poetry for six years.
6: A small spring of misty white water, surrounded by sand, that causes dragons  to be friendly to the drinker for the next 6 hours.
7: A small pool of sparkling violet water, surrounded by flagstone paving, that  turns the bather’s hair vivid yellow permanently.
8: A huge spring of sparkling green water that causes the bather to shrink by  30 percent of their normal size.
9: A moderate-sized pool of still grey water that causes monsters to be  friendly to the bather for the next 4 hours.
10: A huge spring of still clear water, surrounded by green sand, that turns  the bather’s skin bright green for 11 days.
11: A large pool of bubbling blue water, surrounded by bare dirt, that converts  a small amount of electrum to iron one time per month.
12: A small spring of foaming rainbow-colored water that lowers the drinker’s  Alertness to drinker’s species limit for 6 days.
13: A tiny pool of still brown water, surrounded by flowers, that fully heals  the drinker three times a month.
14: A tiny pool of misty green water that lowers the drinker’s Magical Strength  by two points for 2 days.
15: A moderate-sized pool of sparkling yellow water that exchanges Strength and  Magical Strength.
16: A small pool of foaming grey water, surrounded by pink sand, that raises  the bather’s Willpower by three points for 11 hours, usable three times per  month.
17: A huge pool of sparkling black water that causes felines to be hostile to  the bather for the next 1 hour.
18: A huge pool of sparkling red water, surrounded by gravel, that converts a  small amount of bronze to lead one time per year.
19: A large spring of bubbling clear water that lowers the drinker’s Endurance  to drinker’s species limit permanently.
20: A moderate-sized pool of effervescent clear water, surrounded by strange  vegetation, that fully heals the bather one time a year.
